Sunday, February 29, 2004 - CJ is two months old today. He now weighs two pounds nine ounces. At this rate he could hit three pounds by next weekend. Six days off of the ventilator.
Saturday, February 28, 2004 - CJ now weighs two and a half pounds. That's a full pound over birth weight and a pound and seven ounces over his lowest weight. This was five days off of the ventilator.
Friday, February 27, 2004 - Four days off of the ventilator. CJ is now 16 inches long. His feeding increased to 21 CCs today. He has had a very good week.
Thursday, February 26, 2004 - CJ now weighs two pounds seven ounces. They've raised his feeding to 20 CCs. It's three days off the ventilator.
Wednesday, February 25, 2004 - Two days off of the ventilator and CJ is still doing good.
Tuesday, February 24, 2004 - CJ is off of the ventilator and on a CPAP. So far he is doing well. Let's hope he won't have to go back on again.
Monday, February 23, 2004 - CJ is eight weeks old today and he now weighs two pounds four ounces.
Sunday, February 22, 2004 - CJ had a restful day and is doing well. Still hoping he will be back off of the ventilator soon.
Saturday February 21, 2004 - CJ went back on the ventilator today at a very low rate. He's doing well and hopefully he'll be able to get off of it again soon.
Friday, February 20, 2004 - CJ had a good day. Still having some apnea but not as much. He is doing will with the CPAP and this is five days off of the ventilator..
Thursday, February 19, 2004 - Because of the apnea they put CJ on a CPAP today but that is still four days off of the ventilator. We're taking it one day at a time. His feeding is almost back to the level it was at when they had to lower it.
Wednesday, February 18, 2004 - Three days off of the ventilator. CJ had some apnea problems today but avoided being put back on the ventilator. The BIG NEWS is that Mom got to hold CJ for the first time today.
Tuesday, February 17, 2004 - Two days off of the ventilator and CJ is still doing good breathing on his on with just oxygen.
Monday, February 16, 2004 - CJ is off of the ventilator again. This time they skipped the CPAP and went straight to oxygen. So far he is doing really well breathing on his own. CJ is seven weeks old today.
Sunday, February 15th, 2004 - They had to reduce CJ's feeding today because he wasn't digesting everything. They will work it back up over the next few days. They are still working toward getting him off if the ventilator. Hopefully in the next couple of days. CJ has gained two inches in length. He's 15 inches long now.
Saturday, February 14th, 2004 - Valentines Day. Nothing new to report today. CJ is still doing well.
Friday, February 13th, 2004 - Big News! CJ now weighs 2 pounds 1.9 ounces. His feeding is up to 18 CCs and they have lowered his ventilator settings some more. Things are looking better than ever.
Thursday, February 12th, 2004 - Everything is about the same as yesterday. CJ is doing great. We're hoping that they will try the CPAP again soon.
Wednesday, February 11th, 2004 - CJ had a really good day. The settings on the ventilator has come down some more. You can really see he gets excited with the interaction he has with his mother.
Tuesday, February 10th, 2004 - Everything is about the same. CJ is still doing well.
Monday, February 9th, 2004 - CJ is six weeks old today. He had a good day and is looking better than ever.
Sunday, February 8th, 2004 - Nothing new to report. Everything is pretty much the same as yesterday.
Saturday, February 7th, 2004 - CJ is looking really good. Very alert and aware of everything going on around him. His doctor says they may try the CPAP again in a few days.
Friday, February 6th, 2004 - CJ is growing and getting stronger. He's looking good. Hopefully they will be able to try and get him off of the ventilator, again, soon.
Thursday, February 5th, 2004 - No real change to report. CJ continues to do well and is looking good.
Wednesday, February 4th, 2004 - CJ did well most of yesterday on the CPAP but couldn't maintain his levels on his own so they had to put him back on the ventilator again during the night. He may be on and off several times before he can get off of it completely. Today he is doing very well and the ventilator is set at low settings. They are working toward trying the CPAP again.
Tuesday, February 3rd, 2004 - Mom got to hear CJ cry for the first time today. He is now off of the ventilator and on a CPAP. So far he is doing well with it. We were advised that it is common for them to have to go back on the ventilator but every day he is off is a big plus for him.
Monday, February 2nd, 2004 - CJ is five weeks old today. This was probably his best day yet. They've lowered his ventilator settings even more and he's looking better than ever. He's very alert and active. If all continues to go well they are considering putting him on the CPAP tomorrow.
Sunday, February 1st, 2004 - They've lowered the settings on the ventilator some more. They have also been able to raise his feedings back up and it's now at 16 CCs. Shouldn't be long before they can remove him from the ventilator.
